Fay Halpern

In the Yiskor Prayer, we promise to perpetuate the memory of our loved ones through tzedakah by giving generously to worthy causes in their memory. There is no better way for me to honor the memory of my beloved husband, Norris, than to create an endowment to benefit the Jewish community. Norris Halpern was a brilliant attorney with a passion for the Jewish people.

He was committed to his Jewish fraternity, Phi Alpha. He was instrumental in the founding of Temple Israel in the early 1950’s. He facilitated the merger of B’nai Israel and the United Orthodox Synagogue. And he was devoted to the state of Israel. Clearly, his was a Jewish soul. As for me, my life has been blessed with a wonderful family and the means to create a meaningful legacy to what has been important to both of us. Norris would have been pleased to know that we have played a role in sustaining the life of the Jewish community today and into the future.
