Rita was the Administrator of Ohef Sholom Temple for 25+ years. Retiring in 1990, her friends and family created a fund in her memory, restricted to support youth services, a fitting use for a devoted communal professional who lived to age 103. Her loyalty, concern and devotion for Ohef Sholom were not surprising. She came from generations of Rabbis in Mannheim, Germany, where early Reform Judaism had its origin. Jewish values of learning, knowledge and education radiated from her very being.
The good and welfare of the Temple was her top priority. She helped guide the direction of the Congregation by working closely with its Rabbi to assure the survival of Judaism and the pre-eminence of the Reform Jewish system and its impact on the lives of its adherents.
