We chose to honor my parents, Harold and Reva Sprung, active philanthropists from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who have served as role models and an inspiration to both of us, by establishing a fund at the Tidewater Jewish Foundation.
Our donation honoring them will help support the new Computer Technology Lab at the Hebrew Academy of Tidewater. In the spirit of L’Dor V’Dor, from generation to generation, we envision the long-term benefits our gift will perpetuate. It is a fitting, personal tribute to Harold and Reva who have demonstrated the meaning of tzedakah to us. Their biographies are replete with community service involvement over the past 50 years including Women’s and Men’s Division Chairmen for the United Jewish Campaigns, serving on the boards of the Scranton Jewish Community Center, Jewish Federation, Jewish Home of Northeastern Pennsylvania and Elan Gardens Assisted Living, and the Judaic Studies Department of the University of Scranton.
It is an honor to contribute to the school that has educated and embraced our children, Jordan, Natalie and Marissa and instilled in them a passion for learning. May the Hebrew Academy continue to support future generations and lay the foundation for successful higher education and lifelong Jewish learning.
