Samuel & Harriet White

One of the founders and later as president of Temple Israel, Samuel White was an active fundraiser and donor who, along with his beloved Harriet, championed a host of philanthropic causes. He served with the U.S. Army for almost three years in Europe where he was awarded the Bronze Star. For many years, as one of the trustees of the David and Sylvia Krug Memorial Foundation, Sylvia gave Sam directions and authority to give financial support to education and civic causes he considered worthy and important. She and her husband financed the erection of the Aron HaKodesh at Beth El Temple.
